Ms. Momi Kemoneilwe Metsing is a registered Psychologist employed as the Chief Psychologist (Chief Education Specialist), at Johannesburg North District. She is also a part-time lecturer at UNISA and a clinical supervisor for Master’s in Educational Psychology Students at UJ. She is part of the selection panel for the UJ Masters students in Educational psychology. She served as a board member of SAPSAC (The South African Professional Society on the Abuse of Children) holding the portfolio of the Education desk. She is currently serving as an executive secretary board member of SEPSA (Society of Educational Psychologists in South Africa), which falls under PSYSSA (Psychological Society of South Africa). Prior to her psychology training, she was a primary school teacher for 12 years subsequently becoming the Head of Department and then, Deputy Chief Education Specialist where she trained educators on aspects relating to Learners with Special Education Needs (LSEN), reading, and early identification of learning barriers. Her focus is on school community therapeutic interventions, with the focus on creative expressive art therapy. She is currently on the District Based Accommodations Committee (DBAC) where she processes the application of concessions but does advocacy to schools on the matter. She has presented at national conferences, on television and national radio stations, on topics ranging from child abuse, the utilization of creative expressive art therapy, and self-care. Her interest lies in strategic constructivist therapeutic interventions and the utilization of impact therapy
