I have graduated with a Masters in Science (Msc) in Geoinformatics (GIS) from the University of Stellenbosch in 2016.The topic of my master’s thesis research was ‘Mapping informal settlements from Very high resolution (VHR) imagery within an Object-based image analysis environment’, with the aim to finding a mapping/GIS solution to the growing informal settlement problem in the Western Cape and South Africa. I am proud to say that the research conducted is of a high standard and among a few publications globally (South-Eastern European Journal of Earth Observation and Geomatics. ISSN: 2241- 1224). I have been awarded with various National research foundation (NRF) bursaries (DAAD-NRF Scarce skills and NRF Innovation) that have allowed me to present at and attend both local and international conferences. I have worked as Data analyst which has allowed me to visualise and translate business requirements into data tasks, I developed standard reports and KPI’s for continuous monitoring and created dashboards to promote data-driven decision making and for deep-dive analysis. More recently I have enjoyed my role as a Senior researcher for Kantar mainly working on the Vodacom CX projects including monthly/quarterly NPS report tracking and Corporate reputation studies across 5 markets (South Africa, Mozambique, Tanzania, Lesotho and DRC). I believe that my innate qualities and acquired skillset make me suitable for this job, as I am highly motivated and goal-orientated with high task focus. My technical experience allows me to make objective decisions and my knowledge of advanced concepts and standards are instrumental in adept problem-solving. I enjoy engaging with new ideas and innovative approaches, and relish in identifying patterns, problems or opportunities in data sets. I have a clear understanding of what drives customer experience performance, and what data modelling tools and visualisation methods to use to best extract a compelling narrative. I believe that my experience as both Senior researcher and Data analyst has provided a unique cross-road, where I am comfortable managing big data in the back of systems and understand how to deliver meaningful and impactful insight to clients.
