Duties of Instrument Technician Preventive and corrective maintenance within water treatment plants, condensate Polishing Plants (CPP), coal stockyards including bucket wheel coal stacker reclaimer, Ash Conditioning Plants, ash Dumping Plant including Ash Stacker& Spreader, Sewage Plant, Clean & Dirty Drains/Dams, Coal Feeding plants.Performing tests, repairs, fault finding, calibration and maintaining plant process controls and instrumentation on flow, level, pressure and temperature loops. Maintenance, fault finding and programming of Siemens S7/Allen Bradley Control Logix (RSLogix5000)& PLC5/ABB P13 PLC’s.Troubleshooting on Industrial Networking such as Elpro Wi-fi Radio (Ethernet & Profibus radio modems)/MPI/Ethernet/Profibus/ASI/Controlnet/Fiber Optic.-Fault finding on Low and High Voltage Circuits (380V; 3,3kV & 11kV) Switch Performing maintenance on Conveyor Trip Systems CTS and Belt Protections such as Belt Misalignment/Belt Tear/Belt Rip/Belt Slip & Under Speed/Blocked Chute Detectors/ Belt Tension.Adhering to Plant Safety Regulations and performing of risk riskessments.Creating of maintenance Notifications/Works Orders& Reservation using SAP. Investigate and analyse returned to work documents, case history, manuals,manufacturing specifications to determine root cause of recurring defects /incidents. Identify and test potentially faulty components / equipment and record results.Initiate and / or repair and replace faulty components / equipment.Identify potential problems and initiate proactive measures to correct timeously.Conduct maintenance activities by complying with all standards, procedures and instructions. Write and submit comprehensive reports detailing problems, possible solutions and alternatives with cost justifications. Evaluate equipment by studying drawings and manuals. Set up and adjust components / equipment installed according to specifications. Compile and review work procedures. Perform QC activities.
