I am a Professional Natural Scientist (SACNASP Pr.Sci.Nat 400106/09) with a Ph.D in Chemical Engineering, Meng Metallurgical, GDE Metallurgy and Materials, NHD Extraction Metallurgy. I have total experience of more than 25 years, reside and work-based in Pretoria under a University of Cape Town contract ending 30 June 2020. My research and development experience comprise eleven 11 years in the mining and minerals industry as a Metallurgical Engineer from 1990; seven 7 years in the public sector from 2002 in the Department of Minerals and Energy Resources; and 10 years in academic research (energy) from 2009. In all these areas I was exposed to qualitative research in science, engineering and technology; leadership and management principles in diverse environments, including management by project, problem solving, communication skills at bottom, middle, senior and corporate levels in both written and verbal. I also acquired training and experience in strategic planning, investment promotion and policy compliance/ implementation, local and international multi-stakeholder negotiations, numeric, scientific and qualitative analysis, publications, training, research and development.
