I am a journalist with 30 years of post-graduate experience in both print and electronic journalism. I have vast experience encompassing management of the initiation of news channels as well as in the management of news gathering activities. I was in the team that initiated South Africa's first 24 hour News Channel, namely SABC Africa in 1999. I was one of two project managers for the initiation of the SABC News International Channel. I was then tasked to determine news and programme strategies of the channel. Before that I initiated a very neccessary styleguide for SABC Africa given its uniqueness as the first international television news channel to broadcast from South Africa. I was one of the managers initiating the current SABC News channel. I have managed many newsdesks as News Editor, Copy Editor, Bulletin Editor as well as Executive Producer. I have had extensive experience in Editing, proofreading, rewriting content in print and Electronic media and have a very sharp eye for errors. I ama very experienced scriptwriter having started my career in print(magazine) journalism. I delight in mentoring as most staff I have worked with would testify.
