Good day, After many years in the customer service industry, behind a reception desk, my love for food took over. I started volunteering to get my foot in the door of the hospitality industry and it paid off. I landed a job at a little coffee shop which taught me everything I know about running a restaurant. From having no restaurant background at all, I was running the shop (both front and back of house) by myself within 6 months of starting. My boss even trusted me with the shop while she went skiing in Austria for 4 weeks. This sudden responsibility forced me to learn how to manage my administration. I was the only one doing all the paperwork in the restaurant, from ordering and supplier accounts to HR and disciplinary hearings. Keeping a constant record of every transaction and reconciling the bank account was a regular occurrence. My last place of employment was purely administration. I generated invoices and maintained a sense of order in an office that was previously organised chaos. I am currently working in a customer care centre for Amazon, but need more normal hours as I am also completing my BA in English and Communication Science through UNISA. I don't like to boast about my achievements. I would rather let my work ethic speak for itself. I like to lead by example. I am not afraid of hard work and, in my mind, your team is your most important asset. If you don't have a solid team behind you, your product offering doesn't matter.
