With over 10 years experience, my career thus far has spanned various industries including Advertising, Marketing, Television Broadcasting, Publishing, Retail & Financial Services. My work experience has afforded me the opportunity to work with various international and local brands and thus working across multiple above and below-the-line platforms and media including social, digital and experiential platforms as well as more traditional mediums such as print, television and out of home. Working in an agency setting has given me the ability to thrive in a high pressure and deadline driven environment as well as strive for a high level of attention to detail. Another aspect of this experience is that I have had the opportunity to see marketing and communication campaigns from the beginning, starting with the conceptualizing of marketing and brand strategies through to the final creative output, which has helped me better understand, respect and appreciate the various steps involved in creating successful and effective brand communication. This is the aspect of my experience that I feel would most set me apart from other candidates. With formal training, and a three year qualification in Communication Management from Vega - The Brand Communication School as well as a 3 year National Diploma in Graphic Design from Cape Peninsula University of Technology, I've learned to develop a sense of more strategic creative thinking that strives for effective and relevant communication solutions. With a background in design, I've also honed the technical knowledge required to see projects through from concept all the way to final output and production. This includes the likes of marketing collateral such as emailers, electronic and printed invitations, brochures, online and print banners, and presentations to name but a few. Having been part of the team who won an international award at Promax BDA in New York in the category of Integrated Marketing Campaign, I feel is a testament to my passion for developing effective communication that is recognized on an international level.
