I am a skilled Senior Java Developer, who's worked in many projects and environments, allowing me to experience a vast array of requirements, and also development opportunities. I landed opportunities in and out of South Africa, where I could apply various techniques, coding strategies, and standards, for getting the job done all the way to delivery day production deployments. I have also been able to operate in areas such as dev-ops and architecture, giving me insight where a developer most needs it, to accomplish a more fulfilling release of operational requirements for the projects at hand. I am interested in both Mid-Tier, and Back-End layers of Systems, and also can perform well implementing front-end UI in SWT, GWT (smartGWT also) and Swing. I feel strong about my abilities to offer services which are of positive influence in these spheres of activities, adding value to projects that require skills in both areas. I currently support open source, and will suggest tools from that sphere such as Spring, Maven, Hibernate, Apache camel, and open source databases such as MySQL or Postgres. Alabeit it may be that some projects utilize proprietary software, there is always space for bespoke code to support the growing fields of many enterprises. I strongly lean towards such approach for the sake of curbing tech-debt and future erosion, something I have seen in varied projects. Issues with integration seldom go away as legacy struggles to move ahead with demands from external systems. Enter open source... With so much said, I can only conclude that investing considerable time and effort in all the projects I have participated gives me the insight and knowledge to participate as a valuable team member of any Java projects both of critical nature, and where R&D is a major factor.
