I believe that I have the required skills and experience in the Learning and Development space, as I have more than 25 years of experience having worked in diverse industries and in some of the major companies: AstroTech (Training and Education) - overseeing the L&D functions, MTN (Telecommunications), BMW South Africa (Automotive) and Varsity College (Education). I am a professional with proven capabilities and a strong understanding of the marketplace, as I have held various positions, both locally and abroad, and as such has gained extensive knowledge in sales, operations, business processes, strategy, training, learning and development and leadership. Some of my accomplishments within these industries include curriculum development and course content creation, implementing the learning and development strategy within corporates based on work skills plans (WSP’s), developing training programmes including on-line / e- learning modules, managing training facilitators to ensure best practise execution, formative and summative assessments, marketing strategy, marketing research, optimising business processes, building cross- functional teams, revenue generation, client service and relationship management within South and Sub-Saharan Africa. My B.Com Honours in Industrial and Organisational Psychology complemented the specific professional competencies required for the Sales/Ops Director at AstroTech. Technical competencies required include training needs analysis, content design, programme delivery, recruitment, business development, financial/budget management, internal/external stakeholder management, and people management. Behavioural competencies include negotiating skills, presentation skills to all levels within the organisation, coaching and mentoring and conflict resolution.
