My name is Sarah Houston and I am currently 24 years old. I have just graduated with distinction, in the top four of my graduating class, with a BA in Psychology (and a minor in English) and I am extremely interested in freelance positions for English writing, translating, editing, proofreading and copywriting. I am aware that I may not be the most conventionally qualified for this position, due to the fact that my major was not English, but I truly believe that I am perfect for the position. English has always been my first love and I have a deep passion and respect for the intricacy of the written word. My degree in Psychology has given me plenty of experience in writing lengthy academic essays on various subjects, as well as completing a number of English literature classes. I have juggled three part-time jobs for the last three years whilst simultaneously completing my Bachelors degree. This has instilled an incredible work ethic in me, great time management skills and diligence. I am fantastic at juggling work, studying and assignments around my full-time jobs which makes me perfect for a freelance role. I've had to have a lot of self-discipline to prioritize my studies, which has required plenty of organisational skills too. I have worked with children and people since graduating high school - in restaurant settings, childcare and working at a summer camp in America. I have great people skills and I am very energetic and bubbly. I work extremely well in a team, both in management positions and otherwise but I am used to working independently whilst meeting strict deadlines. I'm particularly interested in these types of position because it is a freelance contractor role which works perfectly for me. I am incredibly comfortable working from my computer from all over the world. I have worked full-time jobs both in England and America, while completing my degree online so I am very familiar with the freelance role. Freelance writing, editing and copywriting, content creation and journalism are my dream jobs, and it would be a dream come true to be able to do this. "Enjoy life" is pretty much my life's motto and I aim to make the most of every day in my personal life. I am an aspiring writer and I am deeply passionate about travelling, reading and writing, water sports, and experiencing new foods and cultures. I am always open to critique and am hungry to learn and improve my skills. I can promise that I will work with tireless dedication to improve myself and bring the best of me to this job.
