I have a BTech in Safety Management, a NEBOSH International General Certificate and several other Health and Safety / Management related short course qualifications. I have 15 years safety related experience from site specific SHE Rep duties through to my current position of Regional Health and Safety Manager. I am responsible for 30 health clubs, the companies head office and a call centre currently. I'm involved in identifying gaps in the system through completing risk assessments and incident investigations, training of staff, monitoring of the system through the completion of audits, leadership and management of employees in accomplishing company and region specific goals, construction safety / contractor management on new clubs and existing club projects, Health and Safety Capital Expenditure projects.... to name a few. I’ve also developed audits, risk assessments, policies, safe work practices and training modules. My passion is people and believe that the focus of safety management should be on the people. Observation of staff, safety committee and staff involvement in improving and sustaining the safety management system are a few ways I would ensure employee engagement and a safety-first culture.
