I have a honours degree in Chemical Engineering; a Master of Business Leadership (MBL) degree and, registered as a Professional Engineer with ECSA. My experience is in excess of 35 years from the Consulting and Project environment within the Pulp and Paper sector, Industrial Power and Energy Generation, Environmental Solutions, Industrial Processes and; Water and Effluent treatment and; limited experience in the Petro-Chem industry. I have travelled widely (both local and international) to evaluate new technology, to international conferences and on project assignments. My areas of expertise are: • Technical / Consulting services (Incl. Strategic Studies, Feasibility Studies, Due Diligence, Process and Financial modelling) • Process integration (investigating, evaluating & implementing new technology) • Cost Engineering (including budgeting, cost estimation, and project cost control, procurement and contract negotiations) • Process Design (including process simulation, chemical, mass and energy balances) • Front End Engineering including; Concept Development, Project Scoping and “cradle to grave” analysis My expertise has been recognised through domestic and international assignments as lead process specialist and technology advisor, providing expert input into a number of engagements with companies like Mondi, Sappi, M&R, Metso, Valmet, Jakko Poyry, AF Engineering, MHPS to name a few. I have worked with and managed multicultural teams. I have been directly associated with numerous strategic and capital projects (both green fields and brown fields) and have completed concept development and design for projects ranging from minor modifications to complete process plants. When developing solutions, I always take a holistic approach to define the alternatives and find the most appropriate solution always taking into consideration the trade-offs between technology & economic constraints, environmental demands and sustainability requirements; and facilitate choices between business priorities.
