With more than 20 years’ experience in construction I’ve been intensely involved and successfully executed various construction projects including setting-up and managing consortiums for turnkey Design & Build projects. I have executed general engineering & construction projects, conventional building projects, roads & earthworks projects, integrated mechanical & electrical projects including prefabricated and alternative design technology projects. I understand the full life cycle of construction projects, ably interpret responsibilities, liabilities and obligations of such related stages i.e. ● Stage 1: Inception (client) ● Stage 2: Concept Design (client & its representatives) ● Stage 3: Design Development Design (client & its representative and contractor in a D&B/ABT) ● Stage 4.1: Local Authority Submissions (client & its representative and contractor in a D&B/ABT) ● Stage 4.2: Construction Documentation (client representative engineers/agents) ● Stage 5: Construction (contractor) ● Stage 6: Close Out (contractor & client representative engineers) I am administratively and technically sound to understand how other stages affect the critical Stages 4.2 (Construction Documentation), Stage 5 (Construction) & Stage 6 (Close-out) of projects and have actively set up the Operations Process Flow Chart (operational system) to manage such intricate obligatory stages to proactively address contractual risks. I’ve managed stakeholders and coordinated ALL aspects of the project's liaison including participating in Dispute Resolutions and playing a pivotal role in Litigations. I have worked and am very competent in using the 6 main forms of contract suits, the NEC, ECC, JBCC, GCC, COLTO and FIDIC, being the expert in the first 4 but experienced enough to use the latter two independently. I used both the latter two in the middle stages of my career and under the guidance of then senior managers. I have executed all aspects of stakeholder management with strong abilities of preemptive and preventive thinking and problem solving skills, am very competent with aspects of Construction & Engineering Law as would be applicable in administering and managing contracts thus have NEVER had a project on penalties under my stewardship. I won a High Court Order against the National Government and Arbitrations against Organs of State. I’ve led project management teams and production teams including managing their growth process and integration into the overall operations including setting up their individual monitoring and evaluation of development. My spectrum extended to inter-departmental participation and interlinking into greater projects’ timeous resourcing, execution and completion including setting up of internal control measures to ensure set milestones are achieved. I’ve managed and led aspects of SMMEs & Local Labour participation, management and execution of government infrastructure projects of EPWP requirements and nature and ensuring tender objectives and socio economic deliverables at project and operations level are fully executed. Lastly, I have excellent and proven ability to put together comprehensive and responsive tendering package documents including guiding and managing the tendering response process from inception to submission of a tender document/package.
