From a young age I have expressed a strong passion for mathematics. Throughout high school I was introduced to science as a whole and instantly took to it, being selected to represent South Africa at several competitions. At university I found a new but deeper appreciation for the subject and I am currently completing my honours in statistics through the Business Science - Analytics degree. I am enthusiastic about tackling complex, analytical problems and enjoy a challenge. My empathetic nature allows me to integrate well into social circles where honesty and integrity a revealed to be some of my defining characteristics. I currently aim to first find a company whose profile fits my personality, and at which I can apply the quantitative skills and theoretical knowledge I have acquired at university. I wish to then expand my knowledge of the industry and gain experience and exposure, through a competitive graduate or training program. After establishing myself, I plan to take steps to ensure that I become an expert in my field. My skills include, but are not limited to: Statistical analysis, statistical inference, business intelligence - Proficient in R - Proficient in Microsoft Excel - Intermediate Java, Python, SQL and Unix knowledge - Report writing - Excellent written and communication skills.
