My name is Chuma Twaku, I am currently a CIMA student enrolled for the CIMA Diploma in Management Accounting (Operational Level). I am also registered at UNISA, for the Advanced Diploma in Accounting Science. I was a Finance Assistant for the Projects Office in the Finance Department at the University of Fort Hare. I started working at UFH in February as a student Assistant, then later became a Finance Assistant. I was creating a projects contract register for the purposes of documenting active projects, whilst also classifying income received as either revenue as per IFRS 15, government grant as per IAS 20 or as other income. I only came across IAS 20 when I began working, as it does not form part of the teaching scope of my qualification. On May 8th 2020, I was officially awarded my Bachelor of Commerce: General Accounting qualification. I obtained the Sage Business Cloud Accounting Certificate with a competency percentage of 87,5% in 2019, through the University of Fort Hare, as this course was integrated with my final year General Accounting modules. During my time as a student at UFH, I held various leadership positions from 2016 - 2017; and 2019. From those positions, I gained leadership skills, communication skills, and soft skills, such as people skills, and team interaction and work skills.
