I have been in the legal world for many years and have worked in many of the big firms. The best part of my profession is to format legal documents and make them look professional, neat and easy to access. I am semi retired and would like to build up a business from my home. I can work any hours whenever it becomes necessary or urgent. If there is work I will do it until it is finished. From 1981 to 2013, I worked as a legal secretary for law firms such as Silberbauers, John Levin, Silberbauers, Sonnenbergs, Edward Nathan and Webber Wentzel. At all the law firms, I was secretary to partners and, in many cases, senior partners. I am hard-working, dedicated, reliable and trustworthy. I am professional and mature in my dealings with people. Along with my people skills, my verbal and written communication skills are excellent. In many cases, not only was I entrusted with secretarial work, but also to assist in the drafting of agreements, formation of companies and investment of monies. I was offered a position to assist the Legal Manager at a Canadian mining company in Johannesburg as PA as well as Office Manageress. I had two ladies who worked directly under me. I thoroughly enjoyed this position and looked forward to going to work every day. However, due to closure of our mines, I was retrenched in July of 2018. I then returned to Cape Town and worked for a Labour law firm from 15 January 2019 until 31 January 2020. It is a very small company and they are restructuring the firm. There was not enough work for me, hence I was retrenched. It was not the kind of position I was really interested in. Having spent many years in the legal world, I made a decision to make a change. I placed an advert on the internet and also contacted various agencies which I have used over the years. I was offered a temporary position to assist the Legal Manager at a Canadian mining company in Johannesburg from September 2013 for 6 weeks. I had two days to move my house and fly to Johannesburg. I was made permanent PA as well as Office Manageress. I had two ladies who worked directly under me. I thoroughly enjoyed this position and looked forward to going to work every day. However, due to closure of our mines, I was retrenched in July of 2018. I then returned to Cape Town and worked for a Labour law firm from 15 January 2019 until 31 January 2020. It is a very small company and they are restructuring the firm. There was not enough work for me, hence I was retrenched. It was not the kind of position I was really interested in. I am prepared to try anything and am very confident that I can achieve what I set out to do. Before I started in the legal world, I did rentals, secretarial and reception. I am a very fit and healthy person with a very positive outlook on life. I am tidy, organised and reliable, possessing a cheerful, easy-going and flexible personality, able to deal with stressful days. I am very competent and make a success of everything I undertake.
