Industry Expert across Financial Services (Banking and Insurance) and Telecommunications across African regions Leveraging 16 years plus experience, Desan Pillay specialises in: Digital Transformation, Data-driven turnaround strategies, intelligent revenue growth, e-Commerce platforms and marketplace (PaaS and AaaS). A resilient, pro-active and results oriented strategist and hands-on leader, Desan is the Associate Director for Applied Intelligence (Data and Analytics) at Accenture Africa. He has been the previous Global Chief Experience Officer (CxO) and CEO Africa-designate at inQuba, a digital client-experience software company with offices in SA, East Africa, Australia. He has also led the Africa consulting business for Peppers and Rogers Group, a global customer-centric strategy house, together with setting up the Nedbank Insurance, Direct and Digital insurance business and growing it into a success division. Desan is a transformation leader within the Telco, Retail and Financial Services industry with an experienced strategy consulting and business background. Desan has managed the delivery of several large scale transformation projects and solved critical business challenges to turnaround the business' across South Africa, East Africa, UAE and Turkey. His qualifications in Design Thinking (Stanford University), Data and Analytics (NorthWestern University) and practical knowledge in this field, allows him to communicate at various levels on this topic. With quite an interest in the topic of Digital Innovation and Transformation, he utilizes this energy towards lecturing MBA students on this topic and also serves as a guest speaker at numerous events / conferences.
