Erich Katzke’s career was seeded by ambition and a drive and belief that he is called to make a positive change in the world. Born in Pretoria schooled in the Free state and the last couple of years in Gauteng, Erich quickly found his niche in the engineering field and transitioned into the Training and Development field. Developing through the ranks, Erich started his career as an Apprentice Fitter and Machinist and obtained all certifications associated with Supervisory and Leadership Management within the Engineering field. In 1996 he transitioned into Training and Development and started with the development of training processes, systems, and curricula for the mining and general engineering industry. He obtained several professional qualifications including a Masters degree in Human Capital Development, Safety-, Operations- Engineering- Training and Development- and HR diplomas. He has a vast resume that spans 32 years in the industry and has filled several high profiles and senior management positions within the Mining industry as HR Manager, HRD Manager, Special Projects Manager, Safety and Health, and Engineering positions. He founded a company called Knoskat (Pty) Ltd in 2013 and was intensively involved in off-shore consulting and business development that included training center design and development, design and development of HR systems and processes, Business continuity, and process re-engineering, and employee development. The customer base ranged from leading Iron Ore mining houses, General Engineering, Water Desalination and production, and Retail and Consumer-based operations. He consulted for several high profile companies worldwide over the last 8 years and have concluded projects in Liberia, Sierra Leone, UK, Luxembourg, Canada, Saudi Arabia. Knoskat (Pty) Ltd merged with several other entities in 2020 and Advance Learning Technologies was born. Erich currently holds the position of Managing Director and co-founder of ALT.
