I have recently parted ways with Anglo American after a full and lengthy career since undertaking an M.Sc. research degree in 2003 through to my most recent role as a Senior Project Geologist for Group Discovery and Exploration. During this time, I gained over 17 years’ experience in the mineral resources and exploration industry including skills in the use of GIS, Leapfrog and Geosoft for 2D and 3D modelling and planning, geological data capture, management and release for industry compliant resource estimation modelling. I have proven organisational, networking and communication skills as a partner of CCIC and an exploration project manager for Anglo American and Anglo-American Platinum. Although I am currently based in South Africa, I am seeking to relocate and am willing to travel as and when necessary. In summary my career in geology began when I moved to South Africa to undertake a M.Sc. research degree in economic geology in 2003 following the completion of my undergraduate degree in 2002. My Masters was sponsored by Cluff Mining and focused on a PGE, NI, Cu deposit in the Eastern Bushveld, South Africa. Following this I moved into industry with an international consulting company Caracle Creek International Consulting (Pty) Ltd (CCIC). Within CCIC I worked predominantly with Anglo American Platinum, managing all data collection, database and QAQC of geological data. Anglo then positioned me as one of their exploration project managers, a role that I fulfilled until December 2018 when Anglo-American employed me directly as a Senior Project Geologist for Group Discovery and Geosciences. As part of this role I developed skills not only in the standardisation, collection, compilation and distribution of geological data, but I also gained key skills in mineral resource exploration in Southern Africa including SHE, community negotiation, Social Performance, R&D project creation, innovative technology implementation, HR and team management and mineral rights application.
