Hi, I believe that I’m the perfect candidate for the Restaurant General Manager position. I have gained extensive experience in the hospitality industry, having worked at various restaurants in Cape Town. My management experience includes stock control and ordering, food and beverage costing, staff recruiting, staff training, disciplinary procedures, managing reservations and private events, developing marketing strategies, daily cash ups, and providing weekly and monthly financial reports. I was previously employed as General Manager at A Touch of Madness Restaurant. I was wholly responsible for the operational running of the restaurant (a 120 seater) and held this position for three years. A Touch of Madness Restaurant changed ownership at the end of February 2019 and I was retrenched based on operational requirements. I am currently working at the Chilled Market (a food market) at The Range in Tokai as Market Manager. The market attracts around two thousand people over a two day period (Fridays and Sundays), offers a wide variety of food (served by +- 20 food stall traders) and offers a full-service bar. Having worked at a food market over the past six months has been a new and interesting experience. However, I am passionate about the restaurant trade and miss being in a restaurant environment. I am currently looking for a new and challenging Restaurant Manager position. I live in Wynberg, I have my own transport, I’m not married and I have no children.
