Michelle started her career in production management for one of South Africa’s leading film companies, after studying film production at AFDA. Her extensive experience as a PR, corporate communications and Client Service specialist is further enabled by the skills she has harnessed across a multitude of related disciplines over her 21 years in the advertising and PR industry. She has worked in client service at some of South Africa’s largest multi-national advertising agencies, including FCB as a Client Service Account Executive, and later as a Senior Account Director at Brand inc. During her client service career Michelle spearheaded a national client service team on blue-chip accounts including Unilever Personal Care brands. As for PR and communications, Michelle has spent 14 years working on brands such as SAB, Unilever, SA Rugby, Fanta Free and Nu Metro. Michelle headed up a PR team at Ogilvy Cape Town for KFC Africa, Turkish Airlines, AB InBev, and various Woolworths divisions including: Food, Fashion and Beauty, Homeware, Special Occasions and Loyalty Programme ‘Little World’. Michelle’s background on varied clients within the consumer, sport and niche industries has given her the experience and credibility to work on any brand. Her achievements to date include: Finalist for Best PR Campaign in the Virgin Active Sports Industry Awards; while running the client service team, and managing all of the PR for Unilever, she guided the Dawn brand to achieve the status of Best Performing Personal Care Brand throughout Unilever in 2011/2012; Michelle was also responsible for the PR and tactical events for two consecutive SA Fashion Weeks on behalf of Woolworths Fashion and Beauty in 2017 and 2018. Apart from being detail orientated and thorough in all the day-to-day requirements of a Client Service and PR specialist, Michelle brings a wealth of experience within senior management.
