I graduated from the University of Pretoria with a B.Com degree in Supply Chain Management in 2010, which was attained within the minimum time stipulation. Afterwards, in 2011, I completed my B.Com Honours degree in Business Management, whilst working as an assistant lecturer for the Unit of Supply Chain Management at the University of Pretoria. The course structure of the B.Com Supply Chain Management degree as well as the advanced thinking encouraged during my B.Com Honours degree has equipped me with the ability to participate in functional management within an integrated supply chain. This includes the disciplines of purchasing & supply management, production & operations management, warehousing, transport management and supply chain strategy. The broad structure of content acquired in this degree, including elements of management such as financial management, entrepreneurship and strategic business planning has facilitated my realisation of the critical nature of this field to the success and profitability of an organisation. From 2012 until 2016 I was employed as a Logistics Data Analyst for Value Logistics in Johannesburg, South Africa. The position encompasses the financial aspect of logistics; providing rates for logistics services as well as logistics solutions to potential new clients. This employment has allowed me to develop skills in both supply chain and data analysis. From 2016 I’ve been employed as a Data Analyst for Bidvest Procurement in Johannesburg, South Africa. The position focused on data maintenance and the collecting, tracking and analysing of group expenditure trends and providing recommendations that will positively impact on savings/efficiencies for the Bidvest group. However, I would like to see myself moving into a more strategic position within a company where I can be more focussed on data management and the holistic integration of all functions. I am driven to develop a career which I can be passionate about and I feel that this position may offer me the opportunity to do so. I firmly believe that I would be an asset to your company, being passionate about my field of study and analytics.I am eager to use my knowledge and experience to accept new challenges.
