Willem has been involved in many industries, with the focus on technology and innovation, from deep technical abilities to top level management in large listed corporates. He is an enthusiastic entrepreneur and forward thinker, but with solid general management experience. He has started many businesses, managed small and large budgets, negotiated international mergers and acquisitions, designed new corporate business models and facilitated change management programs. He has had international experience, representing his company on boards of associated companies. As CEO of companies and divisions he has excelled at creating shareholder value. His knowledge and ability to innovate, has created respect from industry, colleagues and employees alike. His communication and marketing skills are well suited to create trust on any level in organisations. He interacts with ease with the board, media, financial analysts, partners, engineers and clients, whilst maximising corporate resources at his disposal. He has broken new ground on many fronts, moving new ideas into reality. He has been in a mentor position for many young professionals, from IT departments to technical specialists, including group CIO reporting lines. He has in the last few years been instrumental in helping organisation on their Digital Transformation journey. Willem is a team player, but with strong inspirational leadership qualities. This extends to the maximising of the capabilities of the people he works with. He believes that success comes through hard work, hard thinking and strong leadership. Currently he is helping companies (large and small) with strategies, digital transformation, product planning, and many more. Of late, he has also been involved in NGOs focusing mainly on Social Emotional Learning in schools, helping to build a new generation of good decision makers.
