KBC Health and Safety (Pty) Ltd, established more than a decade ago, is a privately owned company with 20 branches across South Africa. They specialise in training interested parties in the health and safety industry, focusing mainly on the Telecommunications, Mining, Construction, and Manufacturing sectors; and training on average 120 000 learners each year, all the while designing and customizing the learning programmes and products themselves. Their vision is to create and uphold a ‘no harm’ ethos and their initials ‘KBC’ echoes it; the ‘K’ meaning Knowledge of Basic Safety Concepts, ‘B’ meaning behaviourally applying that knowledge and ‘C’ meaning commitment to going home safely. They are a leader in the training industry and their portfolio of well known clients such as Anglo American, Senwes, Barloworld and Lanxess affirms it. They aim to soon launch a contractor’s hub, where students can study all components of safety in one location.

KBC is a fairly good company to work for, there could of-course be room for improvement. What is great about the company is that as an employee you are exposed to various industry players and you can obtain a world view of training and its impact.
