Having worked at Oasis for more than 10 years has been an important part of my life and career. The group has given me the opportunity and privilege to be part of their development in South Africa and Globally. And I will always be thankful to the Directors and respect each one of them as extremely principled and professional businessman. I will always recommend Oasis not only as an investment manager but as an employer of choice since the group strives for excellence.

"Culture of empowerment and excellence"

I first worked at Oasis for 3 years and then left to work for a "bigger" company with the intention to grow and learn more. However, I have noted the grass was not greener elsewhere. The work ethics and ethos are high at Oasis. The Executive have a particularly high standard of service delivery which can be seen in the company’s performance and excellent growth over the years. There is a planned strategy of development and empowerment of staff and the community through our service offering which, if you don’t identify with, you will struggle. Staff is constantly encouraged to read and study in order to be the best at what they do.
Pros
- The work ethics and ethos are high at Oasis.
- The Executive have a particularly high standard of service delivery which can be seen in the company’s performance and excellent growth over the years.
Cons
- Staff needs to understand the golden opportunity that they have at Oasis. The grass is not greener on the other side. You have to apply yourself and take responsibility in order to progress

Bullying and harassment is company culture. Career prospects not good.

As a previous reviewer noted, the environment is hostile with bullying and harassment ingrained in the company which flows from senior management. Lots of responsibility is given early on however this is due to the high level of staff turnover. Almost zero flexibilty with annual leave policy which is very restrictive.

- Some staff are understanding of the negative culture in place

- Unrealistic expectations in terms of hours and workload
- Negative culture of bullying stemming from senior management
- No prospect of career progression beyond middle management

As a previous reviewer noted, there is a very hostile environment. Staff are constantly bullied by senior management and are given unrealistic tasks and deadlines which set them up for failure. As a result, all senior finance staff have left the company in the last 6 months with the most senior finance staff remaining being trainee accountants.
