Incorporated in 2005, University of Johannesburg is one of the South African leaders in higher education; it has five campuses situated in Auckland Park Kingsway, Auckland Park Bunting Road, Doornfontein and Soweto. The institution has nine faculties and more than ninety departments. They also have a pool of researchers bringing together various fields of expertise and research focus areas. Six of these researchers are A-rated; all of whom are recognised as world leaders in their field. Plus the institution is a home to 22 research centres. The institution embraces South Africa’s rich histories and cultures. Additionally, it proudly pursues a four-language policy in English, isiZulu, Afrikaans and Sesotho sa Leboa. Eight years after being established UJ has been ranked in the top 4% of universities in the world. Also it was the first and only African university to be accepted as a member of the prestigious consortium, Universitas 21.
