Brief Description:
A leader in reinsurance sector is seeking an Actuarial Analyst to join their expanding team.

The key role of this position is to safeguard the company, its clients, reputation, assets and the interests of its stakeholders against all risks and threats to the achievement of the company’s business objectives; to ensure the adequacy of the pricing of the company’s service offerings and of the technical reserves; to ensure the Quantitative Reporting Template (QRT) SAM is accurately and timely completed; to develop and maintain a suitable model for monitoring the adequacy of the company’s capital in relation to its operational requirements; to support the underwriting and marketing activities of the company and to provide in-house support for the other core business and ancillary support activities in the company.

Qualification:
First University degree and master’s degree in actuarial science, statistics, and/or other relevant fields
Post-qualification and relevant qualitative work experience are an advantage.

Skills & Experience:
• Seeking a Junior Actuary with a maximum of 5 years experience, a newly graduate is also welcome.
• Proficient in MS Office tools including but not limited to Excel, PowerPoint and Access
• Meet deadlines and prioritize tasks; work efficiently with minimal supervision;
• Experience with SAM is an advantage
• Expertise and efficiency in modelling the business and in estimating pipeline premiums
• Adequate technical reserving for UPR, IBNR and pipelines
• Reporting of treaty performance and provision of accurate treaty statistics
• Customer Service support, especially in analytics and pricing tools
• Provision of required regulatory, management and Board reports on a timely basis
• Accurate and timely reporting of QRT/SAM on quarterly and annual basis
• Public perception / image of the Corporation

Job Description:
• Be involved in the design, development and implementation of internal capital model
• Calculate technical provisions, pipeline premium and loss estimation
• Data and statistical analysis: extract data, analyse and continuously maintain capital model
• Develop and maintain policies and procedures around the internal capital model
• Information management: provide information including analysing and evaluating data to provide management with insights and conclusions
• Monitor risk exposures and provide information for catastrophe modelling
• Conduct regular reviews of the business: analyse the portfolio and identify key result drivers within the business
• Work with ICT department to determine data requirements for reporting both to management and for regulatory purposes
• Develop and maintain pricing tools, models, and other operations tools
• Provide pricing support to underwriters
• Express an opinion of the overall underwriting policy and adequacy of reserves
• Be involved in completing the statutory returns (QRT/SAM) and providing data required by rating agencies
• Provide analytic support, assistance and reports/information to clients
• Prepare regular (monthly, quarterly, annual and other periodic and/or ad-hoc) reports and reviews on the assigned areas of responsibility
• Promote productivity, good conduct, discipline, loyalty and team spirit among all supervised staff.
• Provide leadership, proper training and skills development to supervised staff
• Supervise and control subordinate staff through planning, controlling, coordinating and reviewing the duties assigned to them
• Provide effective client service through rendering efficient, yet professional, service to all clients without compromising the policy, procedural and control requirements of the Company and the Corporation in the discharge of any client-facing assignments
• Provide required information, explanations and responses to audit and technical inspection requests on matters relating to actuarial estimates and models; and ensure the implementation of all approved recommendations emanating therefrom under the direction of the Managing Director
• Provide support, expert advice, training and other technical assistance to clients on a need/request basis (especially on analytics, modelling, pricing and statistical tools) as may be directed and/or approved by the Managing Director in furtherance of the business interests of both the cedants and the company
• Promote the image of the Company and the Corporation in dealings with all business partners
• Provide the information, reports or advice required to guide the Deputy Managing Director and the Company Management in the performance of their duties as may be specified by them or as considered appropriate
• Support the Deputy Managing Director and the Company Management in coordinating the Enterprise Risk Management function of the company
• Undertake any other activities that may be assigned by the Deputy Managing Director and/or the Company Management
