Actuarial Specialist

Perform actuarial product development tasks as a member of the Risk Solutions team, and so doing ensuring that the objectives of the team are met effectively in the interest of the target client segments. This extends to all aspects of client experience across the various sales and service channels that clients engage with.

• Investigating and contributing to proposed product range changes using technical product and legislative knowledge.
• Contributing to successful implementation of product suite initiatives by:
• Co-creating solutions to meet the Client Value Propositions of various segments;
• Doing market and competitor research in order to provide useful product insights;
• Completing investigations to support basis setting and pricing;
• Develop and maintain pricing models;
• Close liaison and input into IT, reinsurance, underwriting, enrolment, servicing and claims departments;
• Giving input on administration system design, as well as legal and other process designs required to deliver the product to market.
• Ongoing monitoring and maintenance on each of the products in the range including:
• Monitoring sales volumes and mix, as well as premium collection experience in order to propose corrective actions and identify opportunities;
• Investigate product admin system inefficiencies and suggest fixes;
• Special quotes and queries;
• Building relationships and interacting with other disciplines in the organisation to ensure proactive management actions are taken;
• Underwriting (including claims), Valuation and Profitability monitoring as part of ongoing product health report

• Degree in Actuarial Science, Statistical Analysis, Mathematics or related field
• Passed or have exemptions from at least six A1 and A2 level actuarial exams
• Knowledge on Actuarial modelling, Product pricing or Statistical analysis techniques
• 2-3 years’ experience in an actuarial role
• Proficient in MS Office Packages (MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Powerpoint, MS Excel)
• Experience in the following will be advantageous:
• Life Insurance product development;
• SQL;
