Our client a learning institution is seeking to appoint an Apple IT Technician with a strong background in Apple support. The Technician is responsible for the management and implementation of Apple products (in particular iPad) and is responsible for daily support and training of these devices. Furthermore, the Technician is responsible for the support activities of the ICT Department in order to assist staff and students, both from an IT and AV perspective.

Requirements
• Minimum of Grade 12.
• A relevant IT Diploma/Degree
• A minimum of 4 years experience in Apple support.
• People person
• Helpful and patient
• Strong problem solving skills
• Willingness to do research solutions
• Ability to multi-task and prioritise actions based on urgency of requests.

Responsibilities
• Manage the iPad Programme and other Apple products: maintain ‘Apple’ network; deployment of apps and licenses; tracking and deployment of iPad banks.
• Provide iPad support and training to staff and students.
• Backup and support teachers in the classroom when they make use of the iPad for teaching and learning.
• Provide technical support to staff and students that relates to hardware, software and connectivity.
• Install hardware or software.
• Setup up new equipment and upgrade existing systems.
• Maintain and repair equipment.
• Troubleshoot different computer issues.
• Troubleshoot physical network connectivity.
• Troubleshoot classroom AV.
• Support the Help-desk; monitor and maintain call logs.
• Maintain inventory listings and documentation of all processes.

Character of Incumbent
• People person, who is patient and who can adjust their explanation of problems and resulting solutions according to the level of the user.
• Individual that enjoys problem solving and researching solutions.
• Be able to multi-task and prioritise actions based on nature and urgency of requests.
