APPLICATION DEVELOPER
IT Department
This position reports to: IT Manager

The Purpose: The principal function of the Applications Developer is to make computers perform specific tasks, based on the client's specifications.
Responsibilities
Areas of responsibility include inter alia the following:
? Establishing a detailed program specification through discussion with clients;
? Breaking down program specification into its simplest elements and translating this logic into a programming language;
? Working as part of a team, which may be established purely for a particular project to write a specific section of the program;
? Engaging clients within the company on a daily basis to get a broader understanding of inner workings of the company and how the programs can assist in achieving broader efficiencies and meeting customer needs.
? Combining all elements of the program design and testing it;
? Testing sample data-sets to check that output from the program works as intended;
? Conducting testing and installing the program into production;
? Reacting to problems and correcting the program as necessary;
? Evaluating and increasing the program's effectiveness;
? Adapting the program to new requirements, as necessary;
? Conducting user-acceptance testing to ensure the program can be used easily, quickly and accurately;
? Updating, repairing, modifying and developing existing software and generic applications.
Qualifications and Skills Requirements
The suitable candidate should have:
• Grade 12 (Matric)
• IT Diploma or Degree or Related Qualification
• MCSD Qualification (an added advantage)
• 10 years IT related experience
• Experience in C#, ASP.Net, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, Crystal Reports and MS SQL Server
• Experience in Windows CE/mobile application development (an added advantage)
• Object orientated design of systems
• Knowledge of ERP systems (an added advantage)
• Excellent communication skills & good interpersonal skills
• Able to work independently as well as in a team
• Development on Visual Studio 2005 and Visual Studio 2015
