High-end retail brand in the upmarket pastry industry in Gauteng is seeking to employ a motivated, tenacious and dynamic Area Manager with excellent people skills, a customer-focused individual passionate about store operations. To effectively and efficiently oversee the day-to-day running of the Stores in the Gauteng Region including store auditing, coordinating national training, and other business requirements, and to provide support to both the Direct to Consumer Channel Manager and the Operations Manager.

The position is based in Gauteng
The salary range on offer is between R20k – R22k
Quarterly incentives payable depending on required criteria met
Pension fund available only

You will be required to fit the following criteria:



Tertiary qualification related to the hospitality industry
3-5 years work experience in the Hospitality or Retail Industry in a senior
management position
Knowledge of the GAAP system
Computer Literate (Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Microsoft Teams & Outlook)
High level of numeracy
Good knowledge of acceptable business practice and accounting principles
Staff management experience
Food safety / HACCP knowledge
Understanding of Coffee and Pastry production
Drivers license and own car
Proficient in speaking, reading, and writing in English with report writing skills and compilation ability

Areas of responsibility will include but are not limited to:

Overall responsibility of the management of multiple stores in the region
Coordination of all training from Shop Attendant to Store Manager level regionally
Conducting monthly audits and daily check-ups on the Stores relating to the product
quality, stock taking, financial management, and hygiene procedures
Identifying maintenance issues in the Stores
Weekly store visits, checks to ensure adherence to customer care policies
Overseeing of staff rosters and timesheets
Management of staff – misconduct, leave & poor performance in conjunction with
People & Culture Manager, identify staffing needs
Relieving store managers - in the absence of managers as and when required
Assisting with Store Openings, trade shows, and any other functions within the Stores
