MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The job incumbent will safely carry out rigging and lifting operations in line with documented work instructions.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION REGARDING THE JOB

In this position, the job incumbent will be part of the engineering services team at MMC and play an important role in working closely with various engineering teams and other departments to achieve world class service delivery to his clients. This position is a great opportunity for the incumbent to display their skills, by resolving difficult rigging challenges safely. The job requires a self-starter, energetic individual and a doer.

MMC operates on a 24hr/365day basis. Success in this role happens when the desired uptime and throughput of equipment is achieved at the lowest cost. Risk assessments, work planning and execution will form part of your daily routine.

JOB OBJECTIVES

Prioritise and perform the job as outlined in the Work Order and as per the detailed Task List.
Capture history & complete the job card to the required standard.
Complete Work Order on ONKEY with the correct time and all details to the required standard.
Provide feedback to the Maintenance Supervisor/Foreman on any task where there is a difference between the task instruction and the job requirements.
Provide feedback and recommendations on short comings, defects and further maintenance required to restore equipment to original safe operating condition.
Perform monthly inspections on the HIAB.
Maintain colour coding on mobile crane and HIAB.
Conduct risk assessment and obtain work permit before proceeding with rigging activities.
Draw up master lifting plan before rigging activities take place.
Effectively maintain toolkit and lifting tackle.
Prioritise lifting activities according to production requirements where required
Carry out crane and plant inspections, action shortcomings where possible & report on integrity and safety matters.
Maintain a clean working environment.
Complete logbook for company vehicle.
Keep company vehicle and company property clean.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
N3/Matric with Maths and Science.
Trade Certification (qualified Rigger).
Computer literacy (Basic).
Code 10 driver’s licence.
Overhead crane licence.
Certificate for HIAB
3-4 years’ experience in rigging, post qualification
