Responsible for the Asset Maintenance Management, leading the Asset Maintenance Management team as well as developing and executing the unit’s service offerings to the industry and to provide the requisite support to Site Operation.

Our client is seen as an international, leading specialist in contract operation and maintenance (O&M), operating metal and mineral processing facilities in the coal, platinum, gold, iron ore and diamond industries at major mines in several countries.

The ideal incumbent will have 8 to 10 years of experience of which 5 years should have been in a processing plant, mining operation or similar. Experience in implementing proper maintenance engineering strategies, philosophies, techniques, models and tactics. Experience in reliability engineering with implementation and execution of CMS systems driving reliability and world standard PMS. Experience in management of asset care teams and maintenance management systems for processing facilities and TMM management. Experience in SHERQ management and implementation. Working knowledge of IS0 55000 and or PAS 55. High level of expertise in either SAP, PRAGMA or Oracle with experience in report creation and generation relevant to business needs.

Job description / core competencies:

Ensure compliance with client company policies and procedures, including but not limited to health and safety responsibilities, policies, procedures and programs.
Ensure a working knowledge of and comply with legislative and operational requirements.
Ensure knowledge and understanding of client company and or client frameworks, standards and procedures to be used in delivering of the respective client company projects.
Management of asset maintenance management teams and or assigned subordinates.
Tracks and controls implementation plans, deviations and mitigation actions.
Liaise with all stakeholders but maintains an internal focus on communication with own team / reports.
Assists with consolidating of budgets, cost control.
Assures technical quality of outputs on all projects.
Leading, scoping, planning, coordination, management, performance tracking and reporting on projects and or subordinates associated with the asset maintenance management function including:
- Readiness assessments and interventions for processing and mining facilities.
- Reliability, availability and maintenance and maturity assessments.
- Criticality and failure mode and effect analysis, etc.
- Spares, rotable, consumable reviews and analysis.
- Service level agreements with suppliers (defining scope of works, etc.)
- Participation in operability and maintainability, HAZOP, model, spares and constructability reviews.
- Mentors and coaches subordinates.

Job Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

8 to 10 years of experience of which 5 years should have been in a processing plant/mining operation or similar.

Experience in reliability engineering with implementation and execution of CMS systems driving reliability and world standard PMS.

Engineering qualification (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or a related technical field).
A post-graduate qualification in Project and/or Business Management would be advantageous.
Relevant, recognised qualification in maintenance planning or asset care.
Super user license in one of the major maintenance systems.
Excellent communication skills.
English language proficiency.
Valid driver’s license.
Computer literate in MS Office with a demonstrated proficiency in the use of Word, Power Point, Excel and Project Management Software.
