ROLE PURPOSE
To assist with asset accounting for financial asset management and to ensure asset registers are GRAP compliant.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Determine the valuation of assets based on determined unit rates and in-line with the GRAP requirements of first-time implementation of GRAP compliant asset registers.
Assist engineers with the cost accounting in the determination of unit rates for asset components. Responsible for the updating of asset registers with annual financial movements (i.e. additions, depreciation, de-recognitions, impairments, etc.).
Perform calculations on prior year error adjustments and changes in accounting policies where required.
Assist clients in preparing adjustment journals.
Assist clients in reconciling asset registers with general ledger/financial statements. Assist with the client’s audit processes.
Reconcile physical verification results with previous asset registers and apportionment of actual or fair values over unbundled components.
Assist with financial calculations required for the asset management plans and asset management strategies including budgeting for capital renewals and operation & maintenance activities.
Assist in the identification and developing of funding models required for asset strategies and plans.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
A BCom Accounting Honours degree
Qualified CA (SA)
A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in Accounting A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
Office hours but can work remotely, regular meetings at client premises, occasional short-duration over-night travel, and some field work
Extended working hours when deadlines dictate
REQUIRED SKILLS
MS Office 365
Business writing skills
ADVANTAGEOUS EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with JIRA
Experience in public sector or exposure to public infrastructure management
