Purpose of the job:

To maintain safe and secure functioning of DSI information system, network, implementation, and oversight of an information security programmes.

Key Performance Area:

• Safe functioning of company network security infrastructure
• Information security plans, policies, procedures, and risks management
• Secure computers and servers’ environment
• IT continuity disaster recovery plan
• Administer the information security incidents.
Knowledge
• Knowledge of application & infrastructure security solutions (Firewalls, Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems, Network Security, IP Protocols, Password Management, Data Encryption, and Access Control).
• Knowledge and understanding in IT continuity and disaster recovery.
• Knowledge of security issues, techniques, and implications across all existing computer platforms.
• Knowledge and experience in vulnerability assessments and penetration testing
• Understanding of Security fundamentals (encrypt, PKI,)
• Knowledge and understanding of Public Service Regulation
• Knowledge and understanding MISS and MIOS

Experience and learning indicators
• 2 years’ experience in information security with combined experience in Firewall Administration, Cisco administration, IPS/IDS and Vulnerability assessment.
• A minimum National Diploma NQF 6 in Computer Science / Information Technology.

• Minimum of 2-years experience in system development
• Advanced National Certificate/ diploma in Information Technology / Computer Science.
