PURPOSE OF THE POST
To assist in the design, development and implementation of the directorate’s policies and programmes in relation to employee health and wellness and the initiatives on internal gender and disability programme.
DESCRIPTION OF TASKS
Employee Health and Wellness Programme
• Provide input in the design and development of the programme
• Manage direct EAP service provision to employees and their family members
• Coordinate the induction of new employees regarding EAP services
• Management and coordination of health and wellness events
• Coordinate education and awareness programme
• Distribution of the wellness newsletters
• Electronic wellness articles
• Coordinate health and wellness information sessions
• Conduct desktop research on best practice for input into policies
• Identify and arrange sessions for the retirement planning programme
• Develop programmes for the organisation exercise facilities / programme
• Issue and manage sports kits and other related needs for soccer, netball, walking and running teams
• Administer referral cases and compile register for monitoring

Health Management Programme
• Provide secretarial support for the Healthcare and Wellness Support Committee
• Coordinate and manage the implementation of decision reached by the committee
• Implement health interventions and draft the reports
• Coordinate health assessments of employees and facilitate implementation of recommendations

Internal Gender and Disability Programme
• Coordinate education and awareness on sexual harassment in the department
Provide support in raising awareness on disability and gender issues to create a gender and disability friendly environment that respond to the needs of employees
• Facilitate the implementation of reasonable accommodation for employees with a disability

• Develop the concept document for key calendar events and coordinate the implementation on activities planned for the key calendar events
• Coordinate disability sensitization exercise and make recommendation based on the experiences of participants/employee
• Facilitate and administer the implementation of recommendations from the disability exercise to create a friendly and accessible environment for people with disabilities
• Network with disability organisations to facilitate effective reasonable accommodation for disabled employees
• Conduct desktop research on best practice for input into policies

Provide Administration Support and Implement Internal Controls
• Provide support in compiling administrative reports, statutory plans, reports, implement internal controls, updating risk register and drafting of response to clients based on the requests received
• Ensure support of other HR projects
• Maintain records, and update databases
• Maintain workflow and processes

Batho Pele
• Presentation on Batho Pele to create awareness
• Administer and implement the Department's Batho Pele action plan

QUALIFICATIONS
A tertiary qualification at the level of NQF level 7 in Social Sciences / Industrial Psychology
