Overview
Our client, at a historic site in the heart of Stellenbosch, seeks to employ an experienced Restaurant Assistant Manager / Wine Ambassador. This restaurant is inspired by our experiences and celebrates our rich heritage, offering a multi-course, fixed menu.

Responsibilities
The main objective of the wine ambassador's duty is to guide the guest through the wine list with knowledge and confidence and to assist the restaurant manager and the service ambassadors during service
Assist in Co-ordinating and managing the restaurant's daily flow, ensure guest satisfaction and a smooth running of service
Meticulous attention to detail with strong administrative skills to take reservations, correspond to guest enquiries, daily stock management and reporting, cash up procedures, orders, supplier liaison, cleaning schedules and daily training check lists
To assist in planning and controlling the day-to-day operations of the outlet including inventory levels and maintenance issues
Excellent knowledge of the wine list and be confident in pre-dinner drink trolley service as well as after dinner brandy trolley service.

Requirements
Relevant Tertiary Education * WSET or CWA will be advantageous * Experience in managing a 5-star restaurant * Strong Food & Beverage background * Service and Guest Centric * Excellent Food and Wine knowledge * Strong Organisational skill set

Highly motivated and passionate about the Hospitality industry * Meticulous, assertive, alert, inspirational * Good communication skills on all levels * Able to work systematically and accurately

Remuneration
R8000 - R10 000 per month. Plus gratuity share

Consideration
Candidates, who are already residing in the Western Cape will have preference. We can only consider South African Citizens or applicants who hold a valid South African Permanent Residence!
