We have a great career opportunity for a Australian Tax Manager to join a leading financial services group in Johannesburg. This is a key role within the finance team and encompasses managing the Group’s tax affairs. If you have 5+ years’ experience in taxation/ business services are able to work both independently and in a team environment, this job could be perfect for you!

Your key job responsibilities as the Australian Tax Manager in Johannesburg will include:

- Managing the Tax compliance and advisory requirements for the group
- Lodgement of annual corporate income tax returns including monthly payment of income tax with the ATO and IRD
- Liaise with external taxation advisors and assist with the review of tax return, GST returns, transfer pricing calculations and FBT returns
- Manage tax reviews, audits and other communications with the ATO, NZ IRD and State Revenue Offices
- Providing tax advisory services to all business functions as required
- Maintains tax balances on general ledger and oversees reconciliations
- Identify ways of improving the efficiency of tax compliance and accounting processes
- Support the half year and full year tax effect accounting and group audit and tax requirements
- Assist with other ad hoc tasks and drive process improvements
- Working collaboratively with all Finance functions and the wider business

Requirements for this Australian Tax Manager job in Johannesburg:

- Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (CA) or Certified Practicing Accountants (CPA)
- This role is ideal for a candidate working in a big 4/mid-tier business services or corporate tax area who is looking to move into industry
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in taxation / business services
- Intermediate/Advanced Excel skills
- Self-motivated and able to work both independently and in a team environment
- Excellent trouble shooting/problem solving abilities whilst working under pressure
- Exceptional organisational and priority setting skills to be able to work in a fast-paced environment
- This role requires attention to detail and a “hands on approach”
