The Automation Engineer’s role is to design, develop and maintain automated testing solutions incorporating both in-house and industry leading test-frameworks. The responsibility of the Automation Engineer is to compliment the Quality Assurance process of the teams.

Job Description
Key areas of responsibility:
Design, develop and maintains Intermediate Automation Frameworks
Designs and develops advanced reusable and maintainable automated scripts for cost effective script maintainability.
Designs automated tests to improve the efficiency of software testing processes.
Ensures that all necessary scenarios are covered in the designed tests, to facilitate thorough testing of software.
Grow department knowledge of automation solutions and technologies.
Provides manager and technical lead with accurate estimates and updates.
Design, automate and maintain the server build / prep process.
Document automation processes and test run status.
Liaise with team members to determine the automation priorities.
Research new technologies that can assist with automation.
Gives timely, appropriate feedback on performance.
Knowledge share with team members and other departments
Provides design and technical information through wikis, documents and email.
Provide detail and assist in defining feature test cases.

Qualifications
Desired qualifications and experience:
IT Related BSc / BCom / Ndip & 2 years testing experience OR 4 years testing experience AND Intermediate level qualification (society where applicable)
2-4 years Testing Experience/ Development/ Automation Experience
Automation Testing Certificate
ISTQB Foundation or equivalent
2 years’ experience with at least 2 recognized Automation testing tools (QTP or Selenium)
2-4 years C# (.NET Framework)
Object Orientated design and implementation principles
2-4 years MS SQL experience
Relevant technical skill
Understand the SDLC
Appropriate problem solving skills
Effectively prioritize
Effective time management
Work under pressure
Good written and verbal communication skills
Ability to troubleshoot with assistance
