RS Recruitment Services is assisting a leading organisation in the MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY to recruit a
BLOW MOULDING & FILLING (BFS) TECHNICIAN to be based near Durban on Kzn South Coast.

NOTE: Position is for a new blowing & Filling (BFS) plant just started within a large existing Plant.

Applicants should be/have the following:
National Senior Certificate or Technical equivalent
A technical qualification in plastic injection moulding or related field
Qualified Millwright or a Mechanical Trade Test – an advantage
At least 5 years' experience in setting and operating Extrusion Blow moulding machines (BFS) as well as breakdown and
planned maintenance of equipment, moulds and machines.
Practical working experience as a Technician (BFS) in a Plastic Manufacturing Industry.
Preferably candidates coming from a plastic bottling industry with practical experience on BFS lines.
Experience in PLC ‘s (Programme Logic Controller’s) – an advantage.
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
Good communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
Monday to Friday position but will be compensated for overtime.

Responsibilities – but not limited to:
Position requires the handling of the blow fill seal process work and solve any kind of BFS equipment problems.
Technical experience in BFS Equipment.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Statistical Process Control – an advantage.
Knowledge about GMP (Good manufacturing practice).
Setting and operating Extrusion Blow moulding machines as well as breakdown and planned maintenance of equipment,
moulds and machines.
Complete set up to ensure moulded components meet the requirement, adjusting as required, in collaboration with
production and R&D
Manage raw moulding materials in a way that ensures traceability and prevents contamination
Generate documentation on moulding runs that can be used to control traceability and ensure reproductivity
Ensure that set up is complete and machine mould and machine hand over to production is signed off by production and is done in a timely manner
Problem solve mould and machine issues and provide feedback to Tool Room and Maintenance for recommended corrective actions
Ensuring adherence to Health and Safety rules, policies and procedures at all times.
Follow established procedures in order to maintain a clean environment
Compiling daily production output reports.
Ensuring the “knowhow” on operation of all equipment, training and motivating team members.

Remuneration:
Totally negotiable, depending on experience. 3-month probation period applies.
Provident fund, Annual increase in July, bonus in birthday month
Factory shuts down in December dependant on production demands.
