Education/Experience:

Post Matric Qualification – Trade in diesel or electrical automotive / trucks / or similar
A Tertiary Qualification – i.e. B Tech or equivalent either completed or in final completion year
Automotive or Transport Industry knowledge – having managed a profit/service center

Demonstrated ability to manage a busy Branch (Profit center)

Preference will be given to an experienced Branch Manager
Must have technical skills in an applicable trade/technical qualification
Creating KPI’s, Procedures, implementing and monitoring controls
Developing organization from a HR Capital view
Managing strong technical / engineering staff and providing leadership
Manage a profit center (knowledge of basic finance)
Must work with customers, have excellent communication skills (verbally and written) – be customer service focused
Be able to grow the business by finding new customers and working with current customers (retain and grow)
Attention to detail and ability to demonstrate efficiency and productivity control must be proven

Skilled in using computer applications:

Excel – demonstrated ability; PowerPoint; Communication skills verbal and written – follow up and factual and effective feedback
Must be self-driven and be able to operate with minimum supervision
Have base knowledge of finance and costing principles
Be able to establish and measure workshop productivity and efficiency
Improve/reduce cost
Effective and efficient planning
Customer focused with meeting committed deadlines

Roles & Responsibilities:

Plan and manage the workflow on the Service Centre Shop floor as well as the workflow when working off site at body builders.
Manage internal controls, people and systems.
Conduct regular technical / work audits, stock audits
Manage subordinate attendance, training, mentoring, planning
Motivate staff to reach their full potential
Establish Gaps/Shortfalls
Arrange training to address gaps
Manage store - stock availability and fully controlled according to requirements.
Ensure correct minimum stock is kept in a safe environment
Control all issues and receipts
Be able to manage stores to run efficient with no stock outs
Manage the Health, Safety and Quality on site
Comply and enforce the following Minimum Operating Requirements (MOR)
Use of personal safety gear & clothing
Certification of hoisting equipment
Control and Implement Health and Safety standards in Workshop
Liaise with customers – grow Payable Service Business
Weekly customer visits imperative in growing service business
Understand customer’s transport expectations
Always keep customer informed – good communication skills required
Manage work volume and canvass new customers whilst building up a good relationship with current customers
Search for new work to keep workshop busy.
Protect current business

Focus on cost control, efficiencies in Service Centre – grow payable service business, contain cost:

Plan
Manage OT
VHC usage management (Company billed for access Km’s travelled)
Familiar with standard labour and disciplinary processes
Professionally dressed for client interaction
