Job Objective

To support senior brand manager in the development of brand strategies and to develop strong marketing plans to promote brands in key channels, according to the approved annual brand plans and brand target objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning

• Support the Senior Brand Manager in the development of brand positioning, brand architecture, brand plan development and pricing strategies
• Ensure all activity calendars and in market executions are aligned to the brand strategy

Consumer Insights, Research and Data

• Assist with the briefing in, and completion of, consumer research projects
• Analyse and interpret sales performance data and proactively recommend action where required

NPD
• Successfully project manage and land new product innovations on focus brands

Brand Activity

• Ensure agreed brand activity plans are delivered on time and in full, and that standard of brand execution is consistently of a high standard
• Partner with sales teams to ensure successful roll out of brand activity into key channels and customers
• Conduct trade visits to evaluate brand activity in market and ensure all brand activity is tracked and measured against agreed KPI’s
• Actively monitor environment in which brands play in local and international markets (staying abreast of competitor activity, market trends, shifts in consumer psyche or behaviour and regulatory influencers) and recommend required action
• Proactively look for exciting and relevant opportunities for each brand

Commercial

• Adopt a ROI mindset when planning and executing brand activity
• Assist Senior Brand Manager with sizing biggest brand opportunities
• Ensure P&L’s are in place for all NPD and promotional activity
• Manage project and activity budgets to ensure control and no overspend
• Manage all admin related to brand spend including PO generation and payment of supplier invoices

Stakeholder Management

• Build strong, mutually beneficial relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Participate in multiple cross functional project teams simultaneously, tapping into the knowledge and experience of subject matter experts and holding team members accountable to deliver against commitments

Minimum Requirements:

• B. Comm degree / IMM Diploma
• Minimum 2 years relevant brand marketing experience
• Project management experience would be beneficial
• Commercial acumen
• Demonstrated operational and executional excellence
• Above average written and verbal communication skills
