Bus and Coach Body Builder / Repairer – Pretoria

We are looking for an energetic, attention to detail and positive Bus and Coach Body Builder.
Please make sure that you have all the MINIMUM requirements before applying for the position.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Essential: Proven track record with a minimum of two (2) years building and repairing of buses and coaches.
Experience working with drilling, blow torches, spray painting, grinding and very importantly WELDING.
Preference will be given to those with TIG welding experience
Steel, aluminium and fiberglass repairs experience essential
Matric
A relevant trade qualification is essential
Valid driver’s license is essential
Personable communication
Energetic and capable of working independently
Must be willing to work under pressure
Must be hard working and self motivated
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Repairing and rebuilding bus bodies, building coaches & semi-luxury coaches bodies, repairing bus bodies, assembling chassis as well as producing auxiliary vehicles units such as Mobile Ticket Offices, Tow Trucks, Luggage Trailers, etc.
Big and small smash repairs
Resprays
Door fill-in’s
Interior trim refurbishments eg. fabric, floor coverings
Assess the extent of the damage and the best way to do the repairs. On a repair job, your duties could include:
removing damaged panels or parts to repair at a workbench
smoothing out minor dents in panels
filling small holes or rusted areas with resin, body solder and other compound fillers
fitting new panels where the damage is too great for repair
custom-building body panels from sheet metal before welding them into place.
After you have fixed the damaged parts, you would refinish the surfaces by:
removing old paintwork, sealant and rust, using the required tools such as grinder
cleaning the repair area and masking off other parts
priming and paint spraying the area, using the manufacturer instructions on colour matches
sealing and waxing the repair.
Record keeping of completed work to give to the supervisor
Package: Basic R96 – R144k p/a Total Cost To Company depending on experience and qualifications.
