Must have a B Com Degree Accounting OR a Management Accountant
Additional qualifications e.g. CA, CFA, CIMA, MBA – will be an advantage but not essential
Reports to CFO
Minimum 5 years' relevant planning and/or management accounting experience.
Minimum 3-5 years’ in mining-related work experience OR investment banking OR strategy consulting
Advanced working experience in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Financial working experience in building financial models and run scenario simulations will be doing financial models and business case scenarios
Work Experience gained in financial (IFRS) and technical (SAMREC) auditing process and procedure
With working experience and skill in feasibility tests and studies on expansion projects according to standards and procedures.
This role will be responsible for financial and economic analysis in support of business strategy and long term financial planning of the Group's operations including life of mine valuations for portfolio management,
Capital prioritisation, impairment assessments, mergers and acquisitions and financial restructuring
Manage and provide guidance on all aspects related to business planning, including cash flow planning, capital allocation,
SAMREC/SAMVAL valuations and IFRS impairment assessments.
Build and report on scenarios by identifying strategic options and providing input into strategy based on economic evaluation and other relevant research findings.
Develop and maintain Life of Mine (LOM) and corporate models; analysing variances in production-, capital- and financial budgets for valuations; provide support and input into feasibility studies, mergers & acquisitions and financial restructuring in collaboration with the relevant finance-, mining- and technical departments.
Maintain an industry-wide perspective on major trends, including macro-economic, consumer, regulatory, technology, distribution channels, product and competitive trends, industry best practices, and identifying potential strategic and financial implications
Gather analyse market research and findings to evaluate strategic initiatives and new growth opportunities, consolidating information and research findings in actionable items to support the business and strategy formulation.
Gather, compile and analyse relevant internal data to improve accuracy in long term forecasting in support of strategy and business development activities.
Engage external stakeholders, including ratings agencies, external auditors, advisors and sell-side analysts.
Ensure that all LOM financial valuation and reporting is aligned with standards, guidelines and schedules. Custodian of long term financial modelling and planning standards and guidelines.
Drive the development of LOM plans for the Operations aligned to corporate goals and objectives.
