Overview:
Identify and source profitable new business opportunities and develop and initiate a sales approach that results in closing new business opportunities to meet an individual target in support of the overall business target. Manage existing client base and upsell existing product offerings. Manage business development officers ensuring and supporting the business development officers to initiate a sales approach that results in closing new business opportunities to meet an individual target in support of the overall business target. As well as to manage existing client base and upsell existing product offerings.

Key Performance Areas and Indicators:

New Business Development:

• Prospect for potential new clients and turn this into increased business.
• Cold call as appropriate within the market to ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities.
• Meet potential clients by growing, maintaining, and leveraging your network.
• Identify potential clients, and the decision makers within the client organisation.
• Research and build relationships with new clients.
• Set up meetings between client decision makers and company’s practice leaders/Principals.
• Work with team to develop proposals that speaks to the client’s needs, concerns, and objectives.
• Participate in pricing the solution/service.
• Handle objections by clarifying, emphasizing agreements and working through differences to a positive conclusion.
• Use a variety of styles to persuade or negotiate appropriately.
• Conduct a consultative engagement with customers by assisting and developing the necessary business cases to influence customer’s purchasing decisions.
• Developing the existing client base for the purposes of upselling, providing client service and retention.

Business Development Planning:

• Attend industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market and customer trends.
• Present to and consult with mid and senior level management on business trends with a view to developing new services, products, and distribution channels.
• Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales. Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators.
• Network with skills development facilitators, HR and Training Managers, BEE consultants and Compliance Officers.

Strategic Customer Management:

• Understand customer strategic, tactical and operational strategy.
• Prepare a detailed account strategy outlining the sales account plans, forecasts and pipeline management.
• Ensures account plans signed off and agreed by relevant stakeholders within the organisation and the customer.
• Develops and leads the Implementation of the Account Strategies based on an appropriate understanding of customer situation, its needs and industry trends.
• Drive and supports new products, services and solutions into the account.
• Manages pre - and post-sales support areas to ensure seamless introduction of new product services and propositions to accounts.

Customer Relations Ownership:

• Oversee and coordinate the relationship between team members in own organization with their counterparts in allocated accounts.
• Develop a positive relationship with the relevant stakeholders in the account.

Operational Management:

• Track the overall customer deliverables through the lifecycle of order intake through to delivery and management of the customer solution.

General:

• Perform any other work-related duties and responsibilities that may be assigned from time-to-time by management.
