You will be responsible for developing a pipeline of new funding partners coming into the organisation and meeting defined sales targets. Your key job responsibilities as the Business Development Manager in Johannesburg will include:

- Prospect for potential new partners and turn this pipeline into increased funding
- Cold call as appropriate to ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities
- Meet potential clients by growing, maintaining, and leveraging a network
- Identify potential clients, and the decision makers within the partner organisation
- Research and build relationships with new organisation
- Set up meetings between partner decision makers
- Plan approaches and pitches
- Work with team to develop proposals that speaks to the client’s needs, concerns, and objectives
- Participate in pricing the solution/service
- Handle objections by clarifying, emphasizing agreements and working through differences to a positive conclusion
- Use a variety of styles to persuade or negotiate appropriately
- Moving the partnership conclusion through to the contracting stage
- Business development administration
- Building referral networks
- Attend industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market trends

Requirements for this Business Development Manager job in Johannesburg:

- Strong, proven, stable track record in corporate solutions-based sales
- Minimum of 10 years’ sales experience within solutions driven and corporate sales
- Experience in delivering boardroom presentations at executive level
- Persistent and conscientious
- Strong business acumen with exceptional written and spoken language ability
- Development or non-profit fundraising experience is advantageous
- Tertiary level qualification preferred, but not required
- Proven ability to build strong and lasting customer relationships
- Own reliable transport – non-negotiable
