Business Insights Actuary – Group Assurance Products
Cape Town and Sandton

Responsible for a team of actuarial students, developing and delivering the actuarial analysis and reporting capability with the focus on business insights to enable GAP (Group Assurance Products) to manage its business and maintain market dominance.

• Development and maintenance of various tools to analyse complex actuarial and business data in order to provide and enhance management and client reporting
• Review and analysis of valuation data, valuation data processes and financial results of group risk products’ performance to gain deeper understanding and insight into business results and emerging trends
• Extract key business insights from the financial results and other analyses performed and present to GAP Management Board along with recommendations of actions
• Management of, and reporting on, international pooling arrangements, including review of operating guide
• Provide technical oversight and support, for group risk products in particular, to finance and servicing areas
• Input into the improvement and development of GAP data and systems
• Automation of models and business processes
• Pricing of (large) group risk arrangements
• Training & development of junior actuarial students

• Qualified actuary / actuarial student with 14 credits (exceptional candidates who don’t meet this requirement may be considered)
• At least 6 years of actuarial experience; financial reporting experience will be a distinct advantage
• Exposure to group risk products or pricing roles would be an advantage
• Experience in managing junior actuarial students l5.4o
