Analyse & evaluate Sales, Net Margin, Stock Turn & Profit for area of responsibility to assess & highlight areas of positive performance
Identify areas where improvement is required & implement appropriate action accordingly
Analyse range performance to determine popular styles that can be repeated or slow moving styles that need to be discontinued
Conduct a thorough analysis and evaluation of past season KPI's (Sales, nett margin, quality, delivery, profit, range performance), use findings as a base for the development of future collections
Attend clothing fairs and global range reviews
Formulate buy plans & budgets for the brand categories
Management of margins for brand categories as defined in the business plan
Monitor & track the category sales and costs, consistently assessing & maximising operational efficiencies
Deliver business KPI's as per seasonal / annual budgets
Track actual performance against seasonal & annual budgets
Initiate remedial activities where necessary
Maintaining an effective working relationship with suppliers, customers and staff.
Ensure that outcomes of supplier negotiations have a direct impact on the departments contribution towards overall profit
Implement a process to communicate effectively when negotiating with suppliers in order that all elements relating to pricing, quality, quantity, styling & delivery requirements are clearly understood and carried out in accordance with business requirements
Monitor supplier performance on an on-going basis & renegotiate deliverables where required
Negotiate costs with suppliers
Liaison with the planners

Minimum Requirements:

Matric.
Degree/Diploma in Fashion
5 years’ experience at a Fashion Retail within the planning/ buying department in Ladieswear
Microsoft Office
Travelling involved
Store visits on a bi-weekly and month-end basis
Must have technical design background
Must be able to show initiative and be flexible
Interpersonal skills, particularly in negotiating
Strong communication skills
High level of attention to detail
Ability to make decisions
Ability to cope with pressure
Good team working skills
