Sovereign Foods, a national supplier of top quality locally produced chicken products to the SA market via various brands, is seeking to employ a Buyer: Raw Material Procurement for its operations in Uitenhage.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and interested candidates for this position at the Group Services Division. The job holder is responsible for the buying of specified raw materials, coordinating orders and deliveries and the administration of imports, contracts and purchasing records.

A minimum of a NQF 5 level qualification on Procurement or Purchasing Management is required and a valid Driver’s License. Previous experience in a similar position would be advantageous.

Results Required:

• Compile, produce, distribute and maintain critical reports and control documents daily
• Maintain accurate reconciliations of raw materials
• Maintain order capturing and purchasing records
• Conduct forward usage planning on all feed raw materials
• Maintain no out of stock situations at all Feed mills by coordinating effective deliveries
• Action FEC orders, as directed
• Control import activities and related administration
• Conduct administration of contracts
• Maintain compliance with SOP’s, Food Safety and risk procedures
• Effective liaison with Feed Mills and 3rd party service provides
• Monitor supplier service levels
