Sovereign Foods, a national supplier of top quality poultry products to markets via various brands is seeking to employ a Buyer in its Commercial divisions. This position reports in to the Procurement Manager for Commercial. The successful incumbent should be in the possession of a NQF Level 5 qualification in Purchasing Management or Supply Chain, with 3 years’ experience in buying. Experience in Syspro will be advantageous. A driver’s license & own transport is essential in addition to being flexible and adaptable with regards to working hours. The position holds a TASK grade of T09.


RESULTS REQUIRED:

• Responsible for purchasing of non-stock items;
• Driving down costs through focused purchasing;
• Responsible for all direct expense purchases for Production;
• Responsible for all direct expense Purchases for Engineering;
• Placing and following up on orders for above;
• Maintain all outstanding orders on Syspro as per agreed delivery dates;
• Placement of Standard monthly orders.


CRITICAL SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

• Excellent computer skills with a minimum of intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel;
• Good communication skills
• Good negotiation skills;
• Strong analytical abilities;
• Strong knowledge of practical internal controls and the ability to implement them;
• Be an individual that is a self-starter who seeks challenges
